The Italian Health Association Kousmine was officially founded in 1998 as a result of the establishment in Italy of a group of pioneers of the medical theory Kousmine. They started to use this methodology in neurology pathology and immunology. As from this year a basic course is held for doctors every year. Until 2000 the courses were organised by the colleagues of the International Organisation. The teaching staff is entirely formed by colleagues of the Italian Association and by the biochemist and nutritionist Dr. Giorgio Perotti, who was among the pioneers of the research on polyunsatured Acids As from the following year the basic courses last 6 days. The are followed by a two days’ refresher course every year in which various modern issues concerning the application of the method are examined even by relators who are not members of the Association. Mr Mauro Carratelli, who was a pioneer in Italy in the research of free radicals, joined the teaching staff in 2001. Dr Eugenio Luigi Iorio professor of Clinical Biochemistry of the University Federico II in Neaples joined the teaching staff in 2004. In the same year Dr Josep Vich, an immunologist from Barcelona, started his collaboration as he is an expert in antireceptors of membranes. The aims, the purposes and the objectives are listed in the statute. The association adheres to the Charte de la Fondation Catherine Kousmine and to the Association Medical Kousmine International and in Italy it is the only legally authorised association which can use the name Kousmine, hold basic and refresher courses and confer the qualification of Kousmine Doctor.
